Small Business Endorses Jim Ridenour for State Senate

Date: September 25, 2020

Former Modesto mayor’s impressive public service record needed in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 25, 2020—The political action committee for California’s leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of former Modesto Mayor Jim Ridenour for the open 5th District State Senate seat.

“Jim’s impressive record in preventing Modesto from declaring bankruptcy during the last recession is an experience that could not come at a more needed time, as California grapples with its COVID-ravaged state budget,” said John Kabateck, California state director for NFIB, the state’s leading small-business association. “His past work as an executive in the emergency medical response industry is an added credential commending his election.”

The endorsement of Ridenour was made by the NFIB CA PAC and based on responses to a questionnaire. Assemblywoman Susan Eggman, who is also running for the Senate seat, did not return the questionnaire.

The 5th Senate District includes all of San Joaquin County; most of Modesto and the community of Riverbank in Stanislaus County; and the Sacramento County community of Galt.
