Stripping Californians of the right to be their own boss must be ended
Independent contracting was put in the crosshairs of the California Supreme Court by its Dynamex decision and the trigger pulled by Assembly Bill 5. Now, thousands of Californians stand to lose their livelihood by being unfairly forced to be someone’s employee.
No longer does California easily allow people to be their own boss, set their own schedule, or make their living the way they’d prefer.
NFIB California has been at the forefront in the fight to give Californians back their freedom and is continuing to do so by participating in a Rally to Repeal #AB5. It encourages all small-business owners to join in on Tuesday, January 28, beginning at 10 a.m. on the North Steps of the State Capitol.
More information on the Dynamex decision, AB 5, and what needs to be done, can be found in this story on the NFIB California webpage, Small Business Central—Independent Contractor or Employee? Further details about the rally can be found on Facebook here.
Rally organizers, Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez and Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, are asking attendees affected by AB 5 to visit their legislators after the rally. For more information call or email Kiley’s office at 916-774-4430, [email protected].
