SACRAMENTO, Calif., Nov. 29, 2019—Will tomorrow’s Small Business Saturday top last year’s record $17.8 billion in sales to independent retailers and restaurants?

“All signs are pointing to a possibly spectacular Small Business Saturday,” said John Kabateck, California state director for NFIB, the state’s and nation’s largest and leading small business association. “NFIB’s Small Business Economic Trends reports for the past two years have been recording record highs in small business optimism, hiring, and capital investment, so on those winds alone, things are looking good for Main Street, mom-and-pop enterprises. Given the recent fires that have devastated many California communities, however, it remains to be seen if California can match the rest of the nation’s contribution to the final Small Business Saturday figures. That’s why it’s so very, very vital, all of us make that special effort to shop small in those affected communities, which can only begin to rebuild when their small businesses start reopening.”
