U.S. Rep. French Hill Takes NFIB's Small Business Challenge in Greenbrier

Date: August 09, 2018

U.S. Rep. French Hill (2nd District) visited Viper Industrial Products in Greenbrier on Aug. 2 to take the NFIB Small Business Challenge.

The Small Business Challenge is a national campaign that invites lawmakers to spend a day “on the job” at a small business in their community and allows them to experience firsthand the challenges small-business owners face, including day-to-day management, compliance, and tax issues.

“We kind of let him walk a day in our shoes,” Viper President Todd Mazur said.

Hill helped repair a nail gun, built a wooden pallet, pulled an order, and drove a forklift to load it into the back of a delivery truck. He also sat down with Mazur and Viper employees in the company’s warehouse to talk about tax reform, regulatory relief, and other issues affecting Arkansas’ small businesses.

He said he appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Viper and that programs like the Small Business Challenge help the voices of small businesses be heard in Washington.

“I’ve always admired the National Federation of Independent Business for their advocacy for sole proprietors, for entrepreneurs that are building small businesses all over the country,” he said.
