DES Now Offering Electronic Options For UI Filings

Date: July 18, 2016

Arizona’s Department of Economic Security is now offering electronic options for small businesses in dealing with their unemployment insurance requirements.
“These options require no purchase of software, and many require very little IT intervention,” says the department in a flyer describing the electronic ways to file:
  • Notice of Employer forms (UB-110s)
  • Responses to Unemployment Insurance Wage/Earnings Audit notices
  • Quarterly tax and wage reports
  • Uploading of bulk files
  • And payments
“The department’s electronic innovation is welcome news to small-business owners especially, as they do all their enterprises’ paperwork, unlike big corporations that can afford accountants on staff,” said Farrell Quinlan, Arizona state director for the National Federation of Independent Business. “This step by DES also complements efforts by Gov. Doug Ducey’s administration and the Arizona Legislature to make our state inviting to entrepreneurs wanting to set up shop here, stay here and expand here. I encourage NFIB members to review the flyer to see if it might ease some of the time-consuming regulatory compliance everyone must soldier through.”
