Take Advantage of Employee Voter Registration Week

Date: September 15, 2019

A lot is on the line with the next presidential and congressional elections. The small business tax cuts, economic growth, and so many more issues will be decided – and that’s just at the federal level. But the stakes are even higher for your business with the candidates and measures found on your state and local ballot this fall. It’s critical to make sure you and your employees are ready to cast that ballot on Election Day this year.

Employee Voter Registration Week, which runs from Sept. 23 to 27, provides the perfect opportunity to encourage your employees to participate in the political process by arming them with all the tools they need to do their civic duty.

TAKE ACTION: Register to vote.

Don’t let anyone tell you their vote doesn’t matter. Last election cycle, control of Virginia’s House of Delegates came down to a race that was officially declared a tie. If just one more person had taken the time to vote, the outcome would have been different.

In the elections to come, you and your employees could be the ones who tip the scales in favor of policymakers who are friendly to small business – but that can only happen if you take a few moments at NFIB’s voter registration portal to sign up to vote, if needed.

NFIB’s Election Center also provides all the election news and resources you’ll need to be an informed small business voter. Spread the word, and, while you’re at it, don’t forget to encourage your friends and family to vote, too. That’s the only way they can ensure their voice will be heard.
