Shelby, Palmer Join NFIB AL Members for Virtual Fly-In

Date: August 19, 2020

NFIB members from throughout Alabama are connecting with their members of Congress this week as part of NFIB’s first Virtual Fly-In.

Ordinarily, NFIB members gather in Washington, D.C., to learn more about the issues affecting America’s small businesses and to visit lawmakers and their staffs on Capitol Hill, but because of concerns over the novel coronavirus, this year’s event was held online.

Members met today with Rep. Gary Palmer and are scheduled to meet on Thursday with Sen. Richard Shelby.

Palmer spoke with NFIB members about a host of issues including unemployment fraud, workforce development, infrastructure, and Paycheck Protection Program loans.

“The virtual Fly-In gives our members the opportunity to connect with members of Congress to learn more about what’s happening in Washington and speak out about the issues that affect their small businesses,” NFIB State Director Rosemary Elebash said.
