Your voice made 2018 a year of milestones.
As 2018 concludes, I’m proud of the victories our members helped NFIB to achieve this year. Four new NFIB members were elected to Congress, small business optimism soared to record highs following long-awaited tax reform, one new NFIB-supported United States Supreme Court Justice was confirmed, and numerous regulations were overturned, freeing up small businesses from costly burdens.
One thing made clear by these milestones is the degree to which elected officials’ actions can affect small business, and that they understand how crucial you are in driving this economy. No one has worked harder to give them an understanding than small business owners. In June, more than 700 NFIB members and their guests traveled from across the country to Washington, D.C. to meet with lawmakers and send the message that small and independent business should be a part of every decision.
NFIB members are the voices of Main Street and it’s because of your dedication and your participation that we are who we are today. The more voices we have the stronger we are, and because of our strong voice, policymakers in Washington, D.C. and in statehouses know where small businesses stand.
NFIB is proud to be the voice of small business and it’s an honor to represent you each and every day. There is much work to be done and we look forward to working with the new Congress to ensure that you are heard.
