How long has your company been a member of NFIB? I honestly can’t remember, at least a couple decades.
Why did you join? We joined because we believed that the NFIB support legislation with which we agreed and benefited our business.
What state and federal issues are most important to you? The federal and state solicitations for PPE, the FDA, labor regulations, unemployment benefits, and taxes
Could you walk me through the process of HomTex getting the contract to provide masks for the U.S. Capitol? We were introduced to the Architects of the Capitol a couple months ago. They were asking for samples of face masks from US suppliers. Our products were reviewed and tested, and ultimately we were selected as the official supplier for face coverings. Other than the quality of our products and being a domestic manufacturer, one of the reasons we were chosen is because we were one, if not the only, USA manufacturers of face coverings that manufactures domestically both cloth masks and nonwoven disposable masks 100% in the USA.
