During the 2019 legislative session, NFIB is:
• Opposing efforts by some lawmakers to impose new mandates on small businesses including a minimum wage increase and predictive scheduling, which would punish employers who have to make last-minute changes to people’s work schedules.
• Resisting changes to state law that would open small businesses to costly and frivolous legal action.
• Fighting attempts to make it harder for employers to adequately screen job applicants by limiting their ability to ask about possible criminal convictions and credit history.
