Final NFIB/Ohio Voting Record

Date: January 16, 2015

Our members are at the heart of everything we do here at NFIB/Ohio.

When we are looking at candidates to support for the Ohio General Assembly members participate through surveys on who they support and also sit on our SAFE Trust committee and interview those candidates running for office.  No candidates for the Ohio legislature are endorsed without member support.

At the beginning of each calendar year a ballot is prepared for members to vote to tell us where they stand on 4 to 5 issues that are on the horizon for the legislature.  Once we have a valid sample, and there is a clear position by our members, the NFIB/Ohio staff advocates those positions on your behalf.

When votes come up in the Ohio legislature on those issues where we have taken a position based on member input we alert the members of the Ohio General Assembly that it may be considered a “key vote” and become part of our voting record. This key vote announcement explains our position and why that position was taken.

At the conclusion of the two year Ohio General Assembly a tabulation of the key votes is taken and our report back to our members becomes the ‘voting record” that allows you to see who the true pro-small-business members of the Ohio General Assembly are.

Now that the lame duck session is ended and the 131st General Assembly has convened, our FINAL voting record for the 130th Ohio General Assembly is available.  You can click on the graphic below to view an on-line version.

If you have questions on the voting record or any of the bill that are contained in it, please contact NFIB/Ohio Legislative Director Chris Ferruso at 614-221-4107 or via e-mail at [email protected] and he will be happy to answer your questions or offer further explanation.
