Delegation of NFIB small business members to hear from policy leaders during day of advocacy

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 6, 2018 – Ahead of their annual Day at the Capitol Tuesday April 10, 2018, NFIB California announced the lineup of speakers who will address their delegation of small business owners during the luncheon program. This is a paid event, but free to credentialed media at the press table in the rear of the room.

“We are thrilled to welcome roughly 100 of our NFIB small business owners to the State Capitol to advocate for public policies necessary to protect and grow small businesses across the state,” commented NFIB California State Director John Kabateck. “Before our members storm the halls of the State Capitol, we are honored to welcome three important public policy leaders to address our membership and help frame much of the policy and political context in California.

Assemblyman Vince Fong has been a longtime advocate and friend of small businesses, and he is deeply involved in the important work of cutting taxes and reforming our hostile legal climate in this state. He will join us to discuss our affordability crisis which impacts struggling small businesses and working families in California.

Assemblywoman Catharine Baker, who has been a warrior on a number of issues important to small business owners, will also join us to discuss her ongoing legislative efforts to support small businesses.

“Finally, Mike Madrid, Partner, Grassroots Lab, will bring important economic and political insights to frame much of what has become California’s tale of two economies including some of the unique challenges small business owners face in this state,” concluded Kabateck.

The program will begin Tuesday April 10 at 12:00 Noon in the Capitol View Room at the Hyatt Regency, Sacramento. If you are credentialed media and wish to report on this event for free, please email [email protected] by 10:00 AM Tuesday April 10. Our Legislative Reception April 10 from 5:30-7:00 PM at The Mix is complimentary and open to all, please email [email protected] to register for free.
