NFIB/GA Prepares for 2017 Session

Greetings,

What an incredible finish to the elections! NFIB worked tirelessly around the country to help elect state and federal legislators that understand and support small business. Here in Georgia, we were also able to make a big impact. Out of the 14 NFIB-endorsed candidates here in Georgia, all but two of them won their races.

Also, we had two NFIB members get elected this cycle in Georgia, one to Congress and one to the State House. NFIB member Drew Ferguson won the 3rd congressional district and will join Georgia’s other two NFIB members in Congress: Congressman Buddy Carter and Congressman Rick Allen. NFIB member Karen Mathiak also won her election for State House district 73. Karen is going to make a great state legislator, and I am looking forward to working with her to help Georgia’s small businesses at the capitol in January.

We are now actively preparing for the upcoming state legislative session here in Georgia. Each of you should have received your member ballots by now. I cannot urge you enough to please fill those out and submit them back to us. Our member ballots are important to our legislative process and give us a lot of credibility on the issues we engage in. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the ballot, please feel free to call or email us.

Lastly, our annual Small Business Day at the Capitol this year is Feb. 2, and I hope you will be able to join us. More information on that coming soon.

As always, thank you for your commitment and support of Georgia’s small businesses.

Nathan Humphrey
