An Update from Your NFIB/Oregon State Director

Date: June 13, 2016 Last Edit: June 15, 2016

Very soon the NFIB Oregon SAFE Trust will be announcing a second round of legislative endorsements, this time for candidates running in open seats and challengers who are running against incumbents with poor voting records on small business issues.

Dear NFIB/Oregon members,

The political season is upon us once again and we have much to do between now and the 2016 General Election scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th.

In case you missed it, NFIB/Oregon released its 2015-2016 Legislative Voting Record back in March and shortly thereafter, we announced endorsements for 29 Oregon incumbent legislators from the NFIB Oregon’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, NFIB/OR’s state PAC. But that was just the first round of NFIB/Oregon’s political activities this year.

Very soon the NFIB Oregon SAFE Trust will be announcing a second round of legislative endorsements, this time for candidates running in open seats and challengers who are running against incumbents with poor voting records on small business issues.

Please be on the lookout for those announcements – and by all means, please help those candidates get elected in every way you are able. You might have also seen that NFIB/Oregon has officially joined the coalition to Defeat the Tax on Oregon Sales, or Initiative Petition (IP) 28. If you haven’t done so already, please consider taking a moment to take action and join the coalition to defeat IP 28, the proposed $6 billion tax on the sales of products and services sold in Oregon, by far the largest tax increase in state history!

Finally, in the coming weeks you will see a Special Member Ballot from us in your email inbox – and we’ll be needing your input. The NFIB Oregon SAFE Trust will be evaluating candidates running for statewide office like Governor, Attorney General, and (possibly) others. We’ll be asking you whether you think NFIB/Oregon should be involved in each respective race, and if so, who you support for that office.

When you see that email, be sure to click on the link and VOTE!

Thank you for your membership and for your continued support,
 Anthony K. Smith
NFIB/Oregon State Director
