Patrick Connor
Washington State Director

For more than a dozen years, Patrick Connor has successfully led a multi-state, interdisciplinary team of grassroots, media, sales, administrative, political, and public policy professionals.

As the NFIB Washington State Director, Patrick has achieved dozens of notable wins and defeated hundreds of unfavorable policy proposals in a state known to be hostile to small business interests.

Working across the aisle, Patrick has developed a reputation as a skillful negotiator, trusted resource, and influential voice in several key issue areas, among them:

  • Tax and fiscal policy
  • Labor and workplace rights
  • Healthcare policy, including cost and data transparency, performance measures, private market and state-based exchange purchasing, standard-benefit design options, and payment reform
  • Social insurance programs, such as workers compensation, unemployment, and long-term care supports
  • as well as regulatory reform and rule-making modernization.

Patrick’s prior public policy experience includes work on general agriculture, crop biotechnology and genetic modification, international trade, and some land and resource use matters.

He is often called upon to discuss complex policy and political topics for television, radio, and print outlets. Patrick has been featured in national, state, and local publications and broadcasts.

In addition, Patrick is an experienced political strategist who has advised or held senior roles in local, legislative, ballot measure, and statewide campaigns.

Elected by voters to two terms in office, and twice selected by his fellow Hoquiam councilors to serve as council president and mayor pro tempore, Patrick had the honor of serving on his hometown city council prior to relocating for professional and personal growth opportunities.

Patrick and his family make their home in Olympia, Washington.
