Sen. Portman Joins NFIB's Virtual Fly-In

Date: June 28, 2021

U.S. Sen. Rob Portman met with small business owners from across the state on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, as part of NFIB’s Virtual Fly-In.

Ordinarily, NFIB members gather in Washington, D.C., each summer to learn more about the issues affecting America’s small businesses and meet with lawmakers and their staffs on Capitol Hill, but because of concerns over the pandemic, this year’s event was held online.

Portman spoke with NFIB members and listened to their concerns about a host of issues including a focused discussion on how taxes and mandates are impacting small businesses. “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I enjoyed hearing from NFIB members from across Ohio about many of the issues impacting small businesses today, from concerns about potential tax increases to the workforce challenges, and more.  I am proud of my 100 percent voting record with NFIB, and I will continue to fight for Ohio small businesses in the U.S. Senate,” Portman said.

NFIB State Director Roger Geiger said, “We truly appreciate Senator Portman for taking time to talk to our members about some of the issues affecting their ability to own, operate, and grow their small businesses. NFIB members always look forward to meeting with Senator Portman to share their concerns about taxes, government regulations, and other issues that are critical to Main Street.
