NFIB/New York: Time for Tax Talk

Date: February 14, 2018

With the 2018 legislative session underway and the Governor’s Executive Budget proposed, there are countless new bills introduced that NFIB is monitoring. From the Governor’s proposed shift in state tax policy from the personal income tax to a payroll tax, to issues in cybersecurity, potential ban on plastic bags and new regulations on employee scheduling, NFIB is weighing in and fighting for your small business on the issues that matter.

There will be countless legislative updates on these issues and more in the coming weeks as the debate evolves. To that end, it will be imperative that you, the small business owner, lend your voice to our efforts. As the legislative session moves forward and the fiscal and regulatory impact new potential legislation could have on your business, it is critical that you join our fight and tell your story!

Please, be on the lookout for our advocacy emails, consider talking to the media on these issues and join us on Small Business Day in May. More information on how you can help will be forthcoming.

Also, 2018 is NFIB’s 75th Anniversary! This year marks a historic achievement for our organization and, more importantly, speaks volumes to the commitment of our members in New York and around the country! We will be having a 75th Anniversary “Fly-In” in Washington D.C. in June! Members will be attended from across the United States, taking part in events and meeting with members of Congress. It is very important that a good contingent of members from New York attend. I will be providing details to you all in the next few weeks. Please consider attending this exciting and tremendous event.

Lastly, I wish each of you a wonderful 2018.
