Two NFIB Members Running in Same District

Date: October 27, 2014

Annapolis
(October 27, 2014) –
Political
candidates with real-world business experience are rare enough in
Maryland.  But this year there are two
running for delegate in the same district whom the National Federation of
Independent Business (NFIB) calls their Smallbiz Dynamic Duo.

“We’ve
been working hard to encourage small business owners to get involved in the
process because it’s the best way to ensure that they and their peers have
strong voice in Annapolis,” said NFIB Regional Policy Director Tim Goodrich.  “This year Chris Adams and Johnny Mautz
have the potential give small businesses in District 37B the strongest voice
they’ve ever had.”

Adams, president of Value Carpet One in Salisbury, and
Mautz, owner of Carpenters Street Saloon in St. Michaels, are running to bring
common-sense thinking to the state’s economic policy making.

“Maryland
has become such a tough place for small business owners and middle-class
taxpayers,” said Goodrich.  “These two
candidates make a really powerful team because of their combined business
experience and we’re going to work hard to make sure they win.”

Chris
Adams and Johnny Mautz were endorsed recently by the NFIB SAFE Trust, the
organization’s political action committee.
NFIB is the country’s leading small business advocate representing more
than 4,500 members in Maryland.
