Ted Cruz's Plan to Help Small Business

The presidential candidate discussed tax reform, Obamacare and the WOTUS rule in a nationwide small business TeleForum.

Touching upon tax reform and burdensome regulations, Republican candidate Ted Cruz spoke with small business owners across the country Dec. 2. Speaking with members of the business coalition, including NFIB, the Texas senator explained his proposal to replace corporate income tax with a “simple flat tax for businesses of 16 percent” as well as his opposition to the EPA’s Waters of the United States rule.

Following the fourth GOP presidential debate, Cruz is tied with neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 16 percentage points in the polls, Politico reported.

NFIB’s CEO Dan Danner praised Cruz for his policy decisions. “Some of the biggest problems for small business relate directly to federal tax policy and excessive regulations, and we’re glad that Sen. Cruz addressed those concerns and explained his positions,” Danner says.
