CARSON CITY, Nev. Sept. 2, 2014—Small businesses suffer the most when workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance fraud are not aggressively prosecuted, and for that reason its representative association today announced its endorsement of Adam Laxalt for attorney general.
“Adam Laxalt is aware of the legal issues that confront small businesses and supports legislation to help reduce workers compensation and insurance fraud,” said Randi Thompson, Nevada state director for the National Federation of Independent Business. “He also is willing to support improvements in the investigation and prosecution of deceptive trade practices and consumer fraud. We will be encouraging our members to support Mr. Laxalt this November.”
In a fax poll of its membership, 87 percent of respondents voted to endorse Laxalt over Ross Miller. Today’s endorsement for Laxalt was made by NFIB’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee. Laxalt also scored 100 percent on a survey NFIB/Nevada sent to candidates running for state offices. Miller chose not to respond.
