NFIB YEF

The NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards program was established to raise awareness among the nation's youth of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in the building of America. Since 2003, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded over 2,300 scholarships to graduating high school seniors totaling more than $2.5 million.

NFIB Young Entrepreneur Awards are open to any graduating high school senior entering their freshman year at an accredited (not for profit) two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute. Applicants MUST be running their own small business in order to be considered for an award.

If you are an NFIB member who would like to take part in interviewing applicants for the awards, please click here to fill out the Nominator Form. This involves interviewing students who have applied for the scholarship to help determine which students are most worthy of the Young Entrepreneur Award. This can take as little as 20 minutes of your time, as each applicant only involves a 20 minute phone conversation. Please fill out the Nominator form if you are willing to help choose our 2013 Young Entrepreneur Award winners.

You can also sponsor one of the Young Entrepreneur Award scholarships. Each $1,000 donation will provide a scholarship for one young entrepreneur specifically in the state of your choosing. With a $1,000 donation, the Award will be named after you or your business which will be recognized both on the NFIB website and in NFIB’s MyBusiness Magazine. A Young Entrepreneur Award is not a direct investment in a student’s business. Rather, it provides financial assistance for a student to attend post-secondary schooling, to continue their entrepreneurial education. Fill out the Donation form with your tax deductible contribution.
