Ask Dan: Passion, Optimism and More Characterize Small Business Owners | NFIB CEO Video
While there is no single path to success, successful small business owners share some important traits, says NFIB President and CEO Dan Danner. "Frankly there's no perfect formula," Danner said in his NFIB web series. "There are all kinds of people starting all kinds of business that you might never imagine possible." Even so, Danner pointed to several traits that are vital for success.
• Optimism. Since half of small businesses fail in their first year, entrepreneurs have to be optimistic to consider starting a business.
• Hard Work. Small business owners are among the hardest working people around.
• Vision. Running a small business takes planning, forecasting and marketing skills, so you have to have a vision of where you want to go.
• Passion. Small business owners often build their businesses around what they know and love.
