Ask Dan: NFIB Members Want Spending Cuts, Balanced Budget Amendment
NFIB President Dan Danner says the federal sequester has so far had little effect on small business and that the money saved by the sequester does nothing to address long-term debt holding back economic growth.
“What’s really needed is to address entitlement spending,” Danner said, referring to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. “None of these is sustainable.”
Danner said more than 80 percent of NFIB members believe spending cuts rather than tax increases are the right approach to address deficit spending.
“They also overwhelmingly favor a balanced budget amendment – over 90 percent are in favor,” Danner said.
