    Here’s a look at some challenges NFIB/Tennessee will address in the General Assembly:

    Budget woes persist
    We're continuing to monitor shortfalls in the state budget and proposals that would alter our current collection scheme. Our tax experts remain engaged with state leaders to be sure the small business view is represented. We will continue to protect small businesses from harmful proposals and encourage the legislature to reduce unnecessary spending.

    Medicaid expansion challenges
    Our nation continues to adjust to uncertainties and burdens imposed by Obamacare. NFIB continues to advocate strongly against Medicaid expansion under the so-called Affordable Care Act, while supporting substantive reforms to TennCare that will protect the state budget.

    Bad ideas resurface
    Each year, NFIB/Tennessee must argue against well-intended but harmful proposals–such as a state minimum wage and healthcare mandates–that drive up costs for your business, impact hiring and reduce comprehensive health insurance coverage for you and your employees.
