Tennessee Issues

  • December 13, 2011

Here’s a look at some issues NFIB/Tennessee will be fighting for in 2012:

    • The removal of unnecessary regulations: Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey has been working with NFIB and business leaders across Tennessee to learn what red tape needs to be cut to spur greater productivity and job creation. We’re working on several improvements as we wrap up a successful Red Tape Tour with stops in Memphis, Kingsport, Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville.
    • Unemployment reform: We are looking for ways to improve the integrity of the unemployment system. Several questions on our 2011 State Ballot directly to possible reform efforts, so please vote your ballot and share your comments.
    • Workers’ comp reform: Gov. Bill Haslam has indicated an interest in improving our complex, costly workers’ system. We’re interested in hearing specific workers’ comp challenges as we work to improve this important component of your business.
