The NFIB Legal Foundation is participating in a court challenge to overturn San Francisco's Worker Healthcare Security Ordinance. This ordinance, passed by the City Council in July of 2006, requires employers to provide health insurance for their employees or pay a fine to the city.

Status: DECIDED. Amicus brief filed March 27, 2008, in support of GGRA's challenge. On Sept. 30, 2008, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected NFIB's arguments and upheld the San Francisco ordinance.
