The House of Representatives debated House Substitute for Senate Bill 81, a comprehensive healthcare bill on Monday. The bill is a result of a number of hearings on numerous related bills and the 21 recommendations of the Kansas Health Policy Authority. However negotiations had been ongoing between representatives of the House Republican caucus and Democrat caucus. These discussions have resulted in a compromise between the two caucuses that played out on the House floor Monday afternoon.
