Oppose Minimum-Wage Increase
S-2059 Substitute A has passed the Senate Labor Committee, and will mandate an annual increase of up to 3 percent. Sen. Raptakis now wants to amend this bill so that the minimum wage will be equivalent to $7.60 on its effective date of Jan. 1, 2009. Contact your lawmakers and tell them you oppose this bill, as it will increase the cost of doing business in Rhode Island.
