SHOP Makes Health Insurance More Affordable, Predictable and Accessible for Small Businesses
The SHOP Act offers tax incentives to encourage states to fix poorly functioning small group insurance markets and creates state purchasing pools supported by a voluntary, nationwide pool. Rating reforms will make premiums more stable from year-to-year and more affordable for those who need coverage the most, and SHOP's nationwide purchasing pool will offer private health plans that cover the entire nation, in addition to plans that operate only in a single state or area. NFIB strongly supports this legislation.
