Jan Meekcoms
NFIB/Oregon State Director

In March 2010, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) proudly announced Jan Meekcoms as its new Oregon state director. Jan brings experience in the three most important credentials for the job: small business, lobbying and politics.

Jan not only comes with great advocacy skills to her new position, she also brings invaluable experience as a small-business owner. Jan has been involved extensively in the real estate industry from the founding of a mortgage brokerage business to owning a real estate investment and management company to operating a real estate public relations and marketing firm. Her entrepreneurial work spans more than two decades, making her uniquely qualified to represent NFIB’s 7,000 members in the state of Oregon.
“At a time when small businesses are struggling due to our current economic environment and expanded government regulations," fees and taxes," said Meekcoms, "I consider it a privilege and a duty to advocate on behalf of small business to ensure the legacy and economic impact of what small business brings to our communities and our state.”
Jan’s extensive civic involvements have included time as an advisory board member of Columbia Academy in Portland and Oregon Education Coalition. She legislatively advocated in association with several non-profits and served on many state and national political campaigns.
Educated at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, Jan lives in Salem, Oregon.
