Harlan LevyNFIB/Oregon State Director
Oregon State Director Harlan Levy is the lead lobbyist for NFIB in Salem and directs all the association's operations in the state.
Before joining NFIB, Levy worked for the Oregon Association of REALTORS® for more than seven years, starting as a staff attorney and then rising to senior staff attorney and finally to director of government affairs. His peers elected him to serve as the government affairs directors' chairman for all state and local REALTOR® associations nationwide.
Prior to joining the REALTORS®, Levy was an associate attorney with several Portland-area law firms that catered to small business clients. During the 1997 legislative session, Levy served as a legislative assistant to an Oregon state senator, working with numerous state agencies in addition to serving as communications director.
Levy's involvement with other state agencies includes appointments to advisory committees for the Land Conservation and Development Commission, the Department of Transportation, the Department of State Lands, and the Office of Regulatory Streamlining. During law school, Levy clerked for the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals and gained practical experience as a legal intern for the Lewis and Clark Legal Clinic.
Levy graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in history. He received his law degree from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore. He and his family make their home in Oregon City, where Levy is president of the Oregon City Kiwanis Club. He has also volunteered his time as a member of the Clackamas County and West Linn Historic Review boards. Levy has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1996.
