</pubDate></item><item><title>NFIB/North Carolina Capital News Update -- April 9, 2008</title><link>http://www.nfib.com/object/IO_36854.html</link><description>If the Legislature passes the recommendations of the Revenue Laws Study Commission into law this summer, the $250 small business health insurance tax credit for businesses with 25 or fewer employees will not sunset on Jan. 1, 2009, but will be extended for five years. The tax credit was passed in 2005 and became effective on Jan. 1, 2006, essentially allowing small businesses to use the tax credit in 2008. One year is not enough time for officials to see if the small business community is going to take advantage of the credit and how much the credit will cost the state. Two NFIB/North Carolina members were featured on the program. The Skylight Inn in Ayden, owned by Bruce Jones, was featured as one of the best BBQ restaurants in the state and the country. The Skylight Inn still cooks over wood and according to BBQ connoisseurs is one the state's best eateries. CBS showed the process of cooking the pigs for hours and the care taken to ensure that the BBQ has perfect flavor. The Angus Barn was highlighted as well.
