In the past 15 years, the fund has grown from $10.6 million to $72.7 million. Today, many of the states that, like Missouri, set up second injury funds in the 1940s have begun to either close their second injury funds and return responsibility to their regular workers' compensation system or limit coverage to veterans and people with permanent total disability claims.

Fri, 22 Feb 2008 00:00:00 PST

Within five years, Missouri will have a higher minimum wage than any of our neighboring states. From an economic development standpoint, our higher minimum wage will do nothing to attract small business start-ups to the state.

Fri, 22 Feb 2008 00:00:00 PST
