John Lanier
Senior Vice President, Operations

As senior vice president of operations, John Lanier is charged with overall responsibility for the critical functions that support the entire organization in its efforts to safeguard the interests of small-business owners. This includes oversight for information technology, human resources and Member Services Corporation, the for-profit arm of NFIB that develops programs providing access to benefits that help NFIB members run their business more effectively. Lanier is also leading cross-functional teams to develop and integrate new products and services that leverage the benefits gained through our advocacy and political efforts. He joined NFIB in January 2001 as director of business operations, and later took on the added responsibilities of membership sales.

His previous work experience included positions as regional sales manager and vice president of sales at MedTrac Inc., and chief operating officer at Willis Administrative Services.

Lanier is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in economics. He lives in Nashville, Tenn. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and working on home remodeling projects. He also works with Junior Achievement and children's soccer leagues.
