Make turkey hunting, not just turkey eating, a family tradition this year
An Oregon "Pilgrim" (Martin Pilgrim of Salem) got this turkey in Grants Pass. Turkey hunting is growing in popularity in Oregon and across the nation
Turkey hunting isn't ingrained in Oregon's heritage like it is in eastern states, but more Oregonians are trying it. Hunters are turning it into a family tradition like deer or elk camp or the opening day of dove or waterfowl season. Anyone can purchase a fall turkey tag and hunt through the end of the season (Dec. 31, 2008).
