Area Action Councils - Illinois

NFIB/Illinois Area Action Councils: A Great Way to Be Heard.

Looking for a way to "Be Involved" and advance the influence of small business in your area? Consider joining an NFIB Area Action Council. These councils are creating a greater awareness of its members and increasing the value and recognition of NFIB. By getting involved in an AAC, you can help your small-business neighbors by:

    • Enhancing your knowledge of small-business issues
    • Improving efforts to elect small-business friendly candidates
    • Assisting in state and federal political action campaigns
    • Helping NFIB grow its membership
    • Increasing awareness of NFIB in media and communities

Participation in an AAC is open to all NFIB members who seek to play a more active role in the work of NFIB. By being involved, you will have opportunities to network with other small-business owners, have direct input on public policy issues and build relationships with elected officials. Most AACs meet about three times a year and members can receive legislative, regulatory and political e-alerts from the NFIB Illinois Office on a regular basis.

Currently, there are AACs in Quincy, Fox Valley (Kane and Kendall Counties), Rockford, Metro-East (Madison, St. Clair and Monroe Counties), Springfield, McLean County, McHenry County, Peoria, Lake-Cook Counties and Illinois Valley (LaSalle, Putnam and Bureau Counties).

Contact Mark Grant at 217-523-5471 for information on how to get involved.
