Small Business Owners Turn Out on Election Day
11/05/2008

Small business owners throughout the state helped elect or re-elect 32 of 34 legislative candidates endorsed by the NFIB/Oklahoma Save America's Free Enterprise (SAFE) Trust.

"Overall, fewer voters went to the polls in Oklahoma on Election Day than voted in 2006, so it's gratifying that so many small business owners helped support the state and federal candidates who support small business," said Benny Vanatta, state director of NFIB/Oklahoma.

In addition to the legislative candidates, NFIB endorsed U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe and U.S. Reps. John Sullivan, Dan Boren, Frank Lucas, Tom Cole and Mary Fallin in their successful campaigns for reelection.

"At the state level, NFIB is optimistic about the issues our members say are important to them, such as tort reform and tax relief," Vanatta said. "On the federal level, NFIB is gearing up to fight for healthcare reform and against the union agenda."
