BATON ROUGE, La. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Louisiana's leading small business group, has endorsed Judge Greg Guidry in his campaign for a seat on the Louisiana Supreme Court. He would represent the 1st District, which is comprised of all or parts of Jefferson, Orleans, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes.

The endorsement was given out by the NFIB/Louisiana SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

"Small business owners need a court system that treats everyone fairly," said Renee Baker, state director of NFIB/Louisiana. "Judge Guidry will take a fair and balanced approach to his decisions.

"The National Federation of Independent Business is the voice of small business in Louisiana, and NFIB members believe Judge Guidry will be mindful of the impact his rulings may have on the entrepreneurs and small family-owned businesses that form the foundation of Louisiana's economy," Baker said. "Small business owners, like everyone else, need a Supreme Court justice who will uphold Louisiana law, not legislate from the bench."

NFIB's endorsement is important to Guidry's campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in large numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends and family members to go to the polls.
