2007 Card Check Vote

On March 1, 2007, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Employee Free Choice Act (House Resolution 800 District) 241-185. Here's how the North Carolina delegation voted:

For card check Against card check
G.K. Butterfield (1st District) Robin Hayes (8th District)
Bob Etheridge (2nd District) Sue Myrick (9th District)
Mike McIntyre (7th District) Walter B. Jones (3rd District)
Brad Miler (13th District) Patrick T. McHenry (10th District)
David E. Price (4th District) Virginia Foxx (5th District)
Heath Shuler (11th District) Howard Coble (6th District)
Melvin L. Watt (12th District)

In the Senate, the bill failed to receive the 60 votes needed to end debate and vote on the bill. Sens. Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr were among those who opposed card check in the Senate.
