The NFIB/Oregon SAFE Trust PAC's First Annual Golf Tournament took place under sunny skies Sept. 12. The tournament was hosted by the Sandelie Golf Course in West Linn and sponsored by Capital SBS Network.

The tournament consisted of 16 teams playing golf in a scramble format. The tournament was made possible by the generosity of the host, the tournament sponsor, more than a dozen hole sponsors, and numerous prize-and-food sponsors. Prizes were awarded for the top two team scores, men's and women's long drive, and men's and women's drive closest to the pin. Dr. Bill Conerly, well-known economist and author, presented the awards to the winners and raffled off many other great prizes. He told a few political jokes that had the golfers laughing profusely and begging for more.

The tournament raised over $15,000 for the NFIB/OR SAFE Trust PAC. All of this money will be used to support small business friendly candidates for the Oregon Legislature. "I am so proud of our sponsors," said NFIB/Oregon State Director Harlan Levy. "They really came through and made this event a tremendous success. They understand how important it is to help elect candidates who understand small business, and they had a lot of fun in the process."

The NFIB/Oregon SAFE Trust PAC plans on doing another golf tournament next year and welcomes old and new sponsors alike. Look for more information to arrive in your email box in the coming months.
