Judges Greg Shaw, Bill Thompson Will Uphold Alabama Law, not Legislate from Bench

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Alabama's leading small business group, announced its endorsement today of Judge Greg Shaw for a seat on the state Supreme Court and Judge Bill Thompson for a seat on the Court of Civil Appeals.

The endorsements were given out by the NFIB/Alabama SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

"Small businesses need a court system that treats everyone fairly," said Rosemary Elebash, state director of NFIB/Alabama. "Judges Greg Shaw and Bill Thompson believe in applying state law evenly, not legislating from the bench."

NFIB/Alabama members and other business owners have struggled with lawsuit abuse and liability costs, Elebash said. "The National Federation of Independent Business is the voice of small business in Alabama, and NFIB members believe Judge Shaw and Judge Thompson will be fair and mindful of the impact their rulings may have on Alabama's Main Street job creators," she said.

Small business owners and their employees vote in large numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends and family members to go to the polls.
