NFIB: Candidate 'truly understands' the importance of small business
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. -- The National Federation of Independent Business has endorsed Congressman Kenny Hulshof in his campaign for governor of Missouri. Hulshof received the grassroots endorsement from small business owners in Mount Vernon at Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center, an NFIB/Missouri member.
"Kenny Hulshof understands the challenges facing Missouri's small business owners, and his commitment to solving them resonates with Missouri's entrepreneurs and family-run companies," said Brad Jones, state director of NFIB/Missouri, the state's leading small business association.
"Small business is lifeblood of Missouri's economy, and as a member of Congress, Kenny Hulshof earned a 100 percent NFIB voting record for supporting small business on critical issues," Jones said. "He knows that helping small businesses is essential to building a strong economy for Missouri."
Scott George, CEO of Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center, said, "As a small business owner and member of NFIB, I believe it's important that we elect a candidate who understands small business – someone who will make it easier for entrepreneurs and small businesses like mine to grow and create jobs."
Hulshof accepted today's endorsement from a supportive crowd of NFIB/Missouri members, Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center employees and area business leaders.
"I am honored to receive NFIB's endorsement, because small business is essential to Missouri's economy," Hulshof said. "As governor, I will do everything I can to help small businesses grow and proper by improving access to affordable health insurance, reducing burdensome government regulations and putting an end to frivolous lawsuits."
NFIB's political support is based on the candidate's position and record on small business issues. The endorsement comes from the NFIB/Missouri SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Missouri's membership.
Today's endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state's small businesses behind Hulshof's campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America. NFIB will encourage its 9,200 members in Missouri to turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day.
