COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The National Federation of Independent Business/Ohio, the state's largest small business advocacy group, today presented its Guardian of Small Business award to state Rep. Ross McGregor (Springfield) in recognition of his outstanding efforts to support small business issues in the Ohio Legislature.
"Representative McGregor is a strong voice for small business in the Ohio House. He has been a leader in passing a number of important initiatives including his sponsorship of a regulatory reform measure that was signed into law this year," said Ty Pine, state legislative director of NFIB/Ohio.
During his time in the legislature, McGregor, who is an NFIB member, has accomplished a 100 percent NFIB/Ohio Voting Record by:
- Advocating for limited government and conservative spending policies;
- Sponsoring House Bill 285, a regulatory reform bill to aid Ohio's small businesses; and
- Fighting to keep workers' compensation costs low.
The NFIB/Ohio Leadership Council unanimously chose to present McGregor with the Guardian of Small Business Award, the organization's most prestigious award, in recognition of his strong pro-small business record.
"Representative McGregor understands what it is going to take to strengthen Ohio's economy and create an environment in which businesses can grow and create jobs," Pine said. "We are proud to recognize him with this award for his work on behalf of Ohio's small businesses."
