WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association, today announced its endorsement of Dean Andal in the race to represent California's 11th U.S. Congressional District.

"Dean Andal is the proven pro-small business candidate in this race. He has a long history of public and civic service that bodes well for small business interests, and a strong reputation for fiscal constraint and responsibility," said Lisa Goeas, NFIB's vice president, political. "His policy positions have indicated his support of many of NFIB's priority issues, including healthcare and tax reform, as well as opposing labor initiatives such as card-check legislation."

NFIB's political support is based on the candidates' positions and records on small business issues. Andal's endorsement comes from NFIB SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the organization's political action committee. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of California's small business owners to the Andal campaign.

Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America.
