Greg Powell is president and CEO of fi-Plan Partners, an independent financial planning and wealth management firm in Birmingham, Ala. He joined NFIB in 2005, soon after starting his business.
He found out about NFIB by looking online for organizations that support small business owners. He stays involved and active in the public-policy process by being an NFIB Leadership Council member and working with business and political leaders. His No. 1 issue: higher taxes, which hurt business and leave individuals with less money to invest.
Greg's greatest joy in being a small business owner is having the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
"No one is successful or fulfilled unless they touch the lives of their employees, their clients and the community around them," he says.
