ATLANTA -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia's largest small business association, has endorsed Rep. Steve Davis (McDonough) for House District 109 in the July 15 primary election.

"Rep. Davis is a proven friend of Georgia's entrepreneurs and small, family-owned businesses," said David Raynor, state director of NFIB/Georgia. In 2007-08, Rep. Davis' votes on key measures affecting small business were 100 percent in line with NFIB's position on the bills.

"Since he entered the Legislature in 2004, Representative Davis has been a tireless supporter of small business. The National Federation of Independent Business is urging its members in Representative Davis's district to support him in his race for reelection."

Small business owners and their employees vote in large numbers and often recruit friends, family members and acquaintances to vote.

"I am honored to have the support of the National Federation of Independent Business," Rep. Davis said. "I believe small business is the heart and soul of Georgia's economy, and I will do everything I can to help them grow and continue creating jobs."

In the House, Rep. Davis sits on the Children and Youth, Insurance, State Institutions and Property and Transportation committees.

"Georgia's small business community can't afford to lose a legislator like Representative Davis," Raynor said. "We are encouraging our members in the 109th District to support him in his bid for reelection."
