ATLANTA -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia's largest small business association, has endorsed Rep. Bobby Reese (Sugar Hill) for House District 98 in the July 15 primary election.

"Representative Reese has been a strong supporter of Georgia's entrepreneurs and small, family-owned businesses," said David Raynor, state director of NFIB/Georgia. "He helped defeat legislation that would have required employers to grant an additional 24 hours of paid or unpaid leave to workers, regardless of the number of employees a company has or the burden it would place on that business.

"Representative Reese clearly understands that state government has no business interfering with the benefits a company offers its employees," Raynor said. "Time and again, he has shown his support of small business, and the National Federation of Independent Business is urging its members in Representative Reese's district to support him in his race for reelection."

Small business owners and their employees vote in large numbers and often recruit friends, family members and acquaintances to vote.

"NFIB's support means a lot to me," Rep. Reese said. "I promise I will continue to support Georgia's small businesses."

In the House, Rep. Reese is vice chairman of both the Budgetary and Fiscal Oversight and Industrial Relations committees. He also is a member of the Appropriations and Education committees. In 2007-08, he voted in support of NFIB on key bills 100 percent of the time.

"Georgia's small businesses need more legislators like Representative Reese," Raynor said. "Representative Reese is a true friend of small business, and we are encouraging our members to support him in his bid for reelection."
