Butler accepts grassroots support from Georgia's leading small business association
ATLANTA -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Georgia's leading small business association, has endorsed Rep. Mark Butler for House District 18 in the July 15 primary election.
Rep. Butler has earned a 100 percent NFIB/Georgia voting record for 2007-08 for supporting small business on key legislative issues. "He has been an outstanding supporter of small business in Georgia," said David Raynor, state director of NFIB/Georgia. "He has supported the state's entrepreneurs and small, family-run businesses on issues ranging from market-driven health insurance reforms to using tax credits to spur job growth in less developed parts of the state."
Rep. Butler, whose district comprises parts of Carroll and Haralson counties, is a vice chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and a member of the Economic Development and Tourism, Governmental Affairs and Human Relations and Aging committees.
"Mark Butler understands the importance of small business to Georgia's economy," Raynor said. "We will encourage members in Representative Butler's district to help him win reelection." Small business owners and their employees vote in large numbers and often recruit friends, family members and acquaintances to vote as well.
"Small business is the backbone of this state's economy," Rep. Butler said. "I am honored that the National Federation of Independent Business has chosen to endorse me. If I am reelected, I will do everything I can to help Georgia's small businesses continue to grow and create jobs."
