WASHINGTON, D.C.--The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association, today announced that it has endorsed U. S. Rep. Robin Hayes for reelection in North Carolina's 8th Congressional District.

The endorsement comes from NFIB's Save America's Free Enterprise (SAFE) Trust, the organization's political action committee, and is based on prior voting records to evaluate the candidates' views on legislative issues affecting small business.

"Rep. Hayes is a proven ally of small business," said Lisa Goeas, NFIB's vice president, political. "He's someone who has consistently stood with small business owners in the fight for a pro-growth agenda that seeks to provide entrepreneurs with affordable health care, less government intervention, and meaningful tax relief."

Rep. Hayes is a consistent winner of NFIB's Guardian of Small Business award, given to those members of Congress who vote to protect free enterprise.

Today's endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state's small businesses behind the Hayes campaign. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America.

NFIB is the nation's leading small business association, with offices in Washington, D.C. and all 50 state capitals. Founded in 1943 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFIB gives small and independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their business. NFIB's powerful network of grassroots activists send their views directly to state and federal lawmakers through our unique member-only ballot, thus playing a critical role in supporting America's free enterprise system. NFIB's mission is to promote and protect the right of our members to own, operate and grow their businesses. More information about NFIB is available online at http://www.NFIB.com/newsroom.
