Playground designer Jennifer Pospichal "gives 100 percent" to small business, NFIB
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Jennifer Pospichal, co-owner of Outdoor Recreation Products in Elkhorn, has been named as the 2008 Small Business Champion for Nebraska by the National Federation of Independent Business and Solveras Payment Systems, one of the nation's leading payment processing companies for small business.
"Jennifer gives 100 percent of herself to small business and NFIB," said Bob Hallstrom, state director of NFIB/Nebraska, the state's leading small business association. "She's made a huge difference to small business not just in Elkhorn but across the state."
Pospichal joined NFIB/Nebraska soon after buying Outdoor Recreation Products with her husband, Bill. Outdoor Recreation Products works with school, city parks departments, daycare centers and landscape architects to provide playground and athletic equipment, skateparks and outdoor furnishings.
Pospichal is a member of the NFIB/Nebraska Leadership Council, a group that advises the association on issues affecting small business owners, and is chairwoman of the Omaha Area Action Council, a group of small business owners that meets to discuss legislative issues and network. Pospichal has supported NFIB's political action committee, the Save America's Free Enterprise Trust, and she regularly nominates students for NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation scholarships.
She also is a member of the Association of Landscape Architects, a member of the Park and Recreation Associations of Nebraska and Iowa and a National Playground Safety Institute certified playground inspector.
"Being a business owner has had many rewards and challenges," Pospichal said. "It is rewarding to know that we have designed and installed wonderful play spaces for children in many communities and schools throughout Nebraska and Iowa, and I am very proud of the fact that we provide meaningful, well-paying jobs to our five employees."
Hallstrom said, "NFIB is the voice of small business, and it's members like Jennifer who help our voice be heard."
